Fee
US$40 for up to three entries. Members must pay their fees using a credit card (Visa, Mastercard or American Express)
though the SAQA Store.
Eligibility and Guidelines:
- Open to all members from Europe and Israel
- Entry is by digital images only using SAQA’s online system (directions below).
- You may submit up to 3 entries.
- Entries must be a minimum of 0,60m up to a maximum of 1,80m per side.
- Entries must have a 4" (10cm) sleeve & label (artist’s name & contact info) sewn on
back. - 3-D, free-standing works will NOT be accepted. No framed work.
- Artwork must meet the SAQA definition of an art quilt. SAQA defines an art quilt as a creative visual work that is layered and stitched or that references this form of stitched layered structure.
- Artwork may be published in the Carrefour Européen du Patchwork catalog.
- Artists are responsible for shipping and insurance to the collection point.
- Artwork may be for sale. SAQA charges a 25% commission on all sales so does the
- Carrefour Européen. Total commission will not exceed 50%.
Requirements
During the online registration process (which will be open May 1, 2012) you will be asked to provide artist information, a description of each piece and to upload digital images: here is a checklist of what you will need to provide:
Artist Information:
- Artist’s First Name
- Artist’s Last Name
- Address (street)
- City
- Postal Code
- Country
- Phone (include country code)
Digital Images:
- Submit one overall DIGITAL image and one detail DIGITAL image for each work.
- Save your digital images as a high quality JPEG file (No TIFF files).
- Finished images should be 1800 pixels on the longest side.
Information about each work:
- Title
- Size: Height x width, in cm (between 60-180cm)
- Materials (25 words or less)
- Techniques (25 words or less)
- Artist’s statement (25 words or less)
- Year Completed
- Insurance Value in Euros
- Total Sale Price in Euros(if for sale):
